Dr Mojalefa Makgata
I am a registered clinical psychologist with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA). I hold a BA Degree from University of Durban Westville (UDW), Honours Degree in Psychology from Potchefstroom University for Christian Higher Education (Pu for CHE), Masters and Doctoral degrees in Clinical Psychology from the Rand Afrikaans University (RAU) and University of Johannesburg (UJ) respectively.
I’ve been a registered clinical psychologist for 19 years, having worked in both the public and private sector. I am proficient in Sesotho, Isizulu, and English. I am passionate about mental health and have a keen interest in addressing different challenges and difficulties facing young people and adults.

Expertise in Clinical Psychology

Individual therapy
Individual therapy focuses on a single person and helps individuals to manage a variety of personal and emotional difficulties that could be affecting their ability to cope with activities of daily living.

Couple therapy
Couple’s therapy helps couples in a relationship to improve their communication and understand underlying issues that could be hampering their relationship.

Family therapy
Family therapy is a type of therapy that focuses on the family as a whole and seeks to help family members to improve their relationship.
My approach in therapy is holistic, believing that a person is a product of an interplay between his biological, psychological, social, and spiritual factors.
